ADVISORY BOARD

Dr. Rick Lindquist, MD

Dr. Richard Lindquist is a board-certified Obesity Medicine physician who graduated from the University of Washington and completed his Family Medicine residency at Bayfront Medical Center in Florida.

In addition to serving on the Advisory Board for Better U Today, he is also a consultant to hospitals and health care systems to assist with planning and development of medical weight loss programs, support bariatric surgery programs and assist in the education of practitioners in the care of patients with overweight and obesity.

Dr. Lindquist is actively involved in state and national organizations and has earned numerous awards and recognitions for his work, including the Obesity Medicine Association’s “Bariatrician of the Year” (2013) for his contributions in advancing the field of bariatric medicine and the Society. He also earned the 2015 Steelman-Seim Educator Award for Excellence in Academics for advancing the cause of health care through education and teaching.

Dr. Lindquist is a board member of the American Board of Obesity Medicine; a Trustee for the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery for the State of Washington; Vice President for the Obesity Treatment Foundation; and is the WA State Representative of the Obesity Society and the Obesity Medicine Association for Access to Care.

Megan Moore, RD, CSOWM, CD

Megan Moore, RD, CSOWM, CD is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition from Washington State University and a Certificate of Specialty in Obesity and Weight Management from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She is the creator of www.MyBariatricDietitian.com, a website designed to help patients who are preparing for or have undergone weight loss surgery and the author of The Complete Cookbook and Meal Plan: Recipes and Guidance for Life Before and After SurgeryShe has spent the last six years passionately serving the weight loss community by providing nutrition education, leading support groups, providing cooking demonstrations, and running social media communities. Additionally, she has had the privilege of speaking to hundreds of medical practitioners on the topic of obesity science and nutrition intervention at the Obesity Medicine Association Annual Conference and the Swedish Medical Center Diabetes Symposium.

Kristin Hirano, MS, RD, CN, CD

Kristin Hirano, MS, RD, CN, CD is a Registered Dietitian and the Founder & CEO of JUST BETTER BRANDS, a prebiotic fiber supplement company.  JUST BETTER BRANDS is a Seattle-based company on a mission to develop evidence-based microbiome enhancing products that contribute to a just better.® life.  https://www.justbetterfiber.com

Kristin earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science & Human Nutrition at Washington State University and completed her dietetic internship at Madigan Army Medical Center. Kristin also earned her Master of Science degree in Human Nutrition at WSU. In addition, Kristin is Board Certified in Adult Weight Management.

Kristin is an obesity and fiber deficiency expert and her specialty is the gut microbiome and how it influences body weight. Kristin is often invited to speak at business and healthcare conferences, as well as weight loss support groups to provide education on the gut microbiome and how the gut impacts all aspects of overall health.
